When Good Leaders Lose Their Way

When Good Leaders Lose Their Way: Archer Daniels Midland, The FBI and the International Price-Fixing Scandal

Join Passion for Change and the CMBA for an lunch and CLE presentation by Mark Whitacre, Ph.D.

What's for lunch? A corrupt corporate culture, intrigue, an international, multi-billion-dollar price-fixing scheme and three years of covert work with the FBI-fueled by reckless abandon related to years of undiagnosed and untreated Bipolar Disorder.

Meet Mark Whitacre-the whistleblower from the Archer Daniels Midland scandal and subject of the best-selling book and controversial movie, "The Informer." High-level politics and jockeying litigators, coupled with risky behavior and crumbling loyalties, led to Whitacre's own prosecution and more than eight years in federal prison for white-collar crime.

Today, the four FBI agents involved with Whitacre's case tout him publicly as a "national hero" for his substantial assistance with one of the most important white-collar cases in history. Douglas Burris, chief of U.S. Federal Probation in the Eastern District of Missouri, stated, "The story about Mark Whitacre's redemption and second chance is one of the most inspirational stories of our time."

2.00 hours CLE requested.
